Back by very popular demand, we will once again be joined by sensory scientist Sietze Wijma for a unique and insightful exploration into the world of wine faults. Would you like to understand what “volatile acidity” and “reduction” smell like? Or what the difference is between a taint and an off-flavour?

During this tasting, you will learn to identify the six most common faults in wine, including brettanomyces, cork taint, oxidation, reduction, mousiness and volatile acidity.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample six wines twice - first with a common fault introduced, and then as the wine is meant to taste. This side-by-side comparison helps illustrate how faults affect the aroma and flavour of a wine, and will equip you to recognise these faults in the future.
