Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille 2008 from Gaja’s Pieve Santa Restituta is a single-vineyard Brunello expression presented in a 1.5-litre magnum format. The Sugarille vineyard is a historic site first documented in 1547, featuring stony, calcareous soils that yield a particularly muscular and concentrated style of Sangiovese. Angelo Gaja brought his signature precision to this estate, utilising temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing in a mix of new and used French oak barriques followed by large casks. The 2008 vintage offers a profile of dark plums, espresso and leather, with a structural grip that is characteristic of this specific cru.
