Valdicava`s Brunello di Montalcino comes from one of the appellation`s most acclaimed producers, and the 2010 vintage is widely considered outstanding across Montalcino. Made entirely from Sangiovese, expect dark cherry, dried herb and leather aromas, firm structured tannins and real depth on the palate, with plenty of life ahead. Still relatively youthful for a wine of this calibre, it will reward further cellaring or generous decanting now. Excellent with slow-cooked lamb, game or hard, aged cheeses.
