Casse Basse Intistieti Soldera 1985 is a rare Sangiovese from the late Gianfranco Soldera, produced at his Case Basse estate in Montalcino. Although labelled as a Vino da Tavola due to Soldera`s uncompromising standards and conflicts with the local consortium, it is essentially a declassified Brunello of the highest order. The 1985 vintage is a monumental wine, known for its ethereal aromatics of dried rose, forest floor and macerated cherries, supported by a structure of incredible finesse and longevity. Soldera’s natural approach – avoiding chemical fertilisers and using only indigenous yeasts and large Slavonian oak casks – resulted in a wine of profound purity and terroir-driven complexity.
