Chambertin Clos de Beze Pierre Damoy 2005
Price
£551.35
Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is one of Gevrey-Chambertin`s two top grand crus, and Pierre Damoy owns 35% of the vines here, some more than 80 years old. Made from Pinot Noir, 2005 was a powerful, structured vintage built for the long haul, and this wine shows deep colour with dark cherry, damson and liquorice fruit, gaining savoury, gamey, earthy notes with two decades of age. The tannins remain firm but are resolving nicely, giving a long, complex finish. Now entering a fine drinking window; pairs beautifully with game or mature cheese.
