Domaine de Montille Clos de Vougeot is a Grand Cru red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. This 2009 magnum comes from a parcel in the superior Petit Maupertui sector, where the soil is shallow and particularly rich in limestone. De Montille utilises a high proportion of whole-cluster fermentation and modest new oak to achieve a wine of structural transparency and aromatic lift. The warm 2009 season provided a plush, rounded texture that is perfectly tempered by the slower maturation and thermal stability of the large-format bottle. It offers a sophisticated profile of red cherries, rose petals and a distinct earthy spice, showing the density typical of this historic site.
