Red Rock Terrace is one of Diamond Creek`s three historic Diamond Mountain vineyards, its red, iron-rich volcanic soil giving Cabernet Sauvignon that is typically the most floral and approachable of the estate`s wines (partly because there is about 20% Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). 2018 was an excellent, well-balanced Napa vintage. Expect dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit, with notes of tea leaf, iron and dried herbs, wrapped in velvety, mouth-coating tannins. Already delicious, it has the structure to age gracefully for a decade or more. Pair with grilled beef.
