Les Funambules Grand Cru Kaefferkopf 2019 is a white blend from the Alsace region of France. Produced from the historic Kaefferkopf Grand Cru site, which features limestone and granite slopes, the wine is composed of 60% Gewurztraminer, 20% Riesling and 20% Pinot Gris. The producer emphasises long ageing on fine lees to gain texture, resulting in a complex, dry release that balances the floral intensity of Gewurztraminer with the smoky depth of Pinot Gris and the lemony freshness of Riesling. It displays a golden, brilliant colour and a nose of rose, violet and candied Mirabelle plum, followed by a supple palate with a persistent finish of citrus peel and damp earth.
