The 1997 vintage is the last in this collection to carry an explicit distillation year on the label, before Macallan later moved to an annual bottling-year format. Dried fruit, orange marmalade and warm spice lead, with a rich, rounded palate of raisin, dark chocolate and ginger, finishing long and gently spicy. The last of the 18 year old editions that featured the vintage on the label. Following this year, the release year was featured.
