Founded in 1991, Marcassin (French for ‘young wild boar’) is a tiny winery located on the Sonoma Coast that focuses solely on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Having either worked or consulted for some of the region’s finest wineries (e.g. Peter Michael, Colgin and Bryant), the supremely talented owner and winemaker, Helen Turley, is considered to be one of the most influential figures in Californian wine. The 2012 has met with great critical acclaim, and displays mineral, floral, citrus and orchard fruit notes.
