The 2001 Grand Vin from First Growth Château Margaux is a strong release composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It is a medium-bodied wine, elegant and superbly well-balanced. Approachable now but still deeply imbued with the purity, style and precision one would expect from an estate of such stature. Available here in a rare 3-litre bottle.
