Ornellaia`s 2023 blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon with 26% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot from the Bolgheri estate on Tuscany`s coast. Expect a deep ruby colour, and a nose of blackberry, violet and Mediterranean herbs with a touch of graphite. The palate is ripe and polished, black cherry and savoury spice framed by fine, ripe tannins and a mineral finish. Approachable now in half bottle, but built to age for decades; pair with grilled steak or aged pecorino.
