Pétrus is perhaps one of the most revered wines in the world and is often considered the pinnacle of the Pomerol appellation. Almost always made from 100% Merlot, it is an exceptionally long-lived wine and can often require significant cellaring before reaching maturity and expressing its true essence. The 2006 vintage is an aromatic, fruit-forward expression, with ripe and primary fruit of red berries and figs, complemented by elements of leather and sweet spices.
