Domaine de Courcel Pommard Les Rugiens 2005 is a mature-vintage Premier Cru red Burgundy from the climat of Les Rugiens in the Pommard commune of the Côte de Beaune. This wine uses Pinot Noir fruit from a 1.07ha parcel in Rugiens-Hauts and comes from the ripe 2005 vintage. "This is aromatically quite similar to the Fremiers and also flashes a background note of oak influence. The dense, powerful and super-rich mineral-driven big-bodied flavours possess first-rate levels of dry extract while delivering fine length on the mocha-inflected, bitter cherry pit and noticeably warm finish.
