Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet and graphite are joined by cool mint and liquorice, while the palate turns silky yet powerful, layered with cassis, dark cocoa and crushed rock. Fine, dense tannins support a long, mineral finish. 2023 was an outstanding vintage in Napa. Larger formats mature more slowly and hold their fruit longer, so this bottle should comfortably outlast an equivalent standard bottle in the cellar and drink well from 2040 for 4 decades.
