Somlo London — Stainless steel Patek Philippe ref. 3418 Calatrava wristwatch.
£23,690.30
Introduced in 1949-1950, the 12-400 is the known successor to Patek's famous 12-120 calibre.
While maintaining the essential architecture, the 12-400 incorporated several critical improvements, including a redesigned regulator system enhancing the overall reliability. These refinements elevated the movement from a delicate dress-watch caliber into a far more versatile platform, capable of meeting the rigors of mid-century wristwatch use.
Patek Philippe produced fewer than 100 to around 600–1,000 total pieces (including related variants like the 3418 A and 3419) that were manufactured between 1958 and 1962.
• First Series (1958–1960): Approximately 200 pieces made (using the calibre 12-400 or calibre 12-AM 400 movement).
• Second Series (1960–1962): Approximately 400 pieces made (using the calibre 27-400 or calibre 27-AM 400 movement).
