This marks The Last Drop Distillers` first tequila release, an ultra-rare extra añejo blended by maestra tequilera Carmen Villarreal at Casa San Matías in Jalisco`s Highlands. It combines spirit aged in bourbon barrels with a portion finished in a port pipe, matured well beyond the legal minimum for the category. Expect fresh agave alongside dark chocolate, salted caramel and orange zest on the nose, moving to citrus and dried fruit, oak spice and clean agave on the palate. A rare, luxurious sipping tequila for serious collectors rather than mixing.
