Part of Suntory`s limited Yamazaki 2020 Edition series, this expression was matured in French oak Bordeaux wine casks from new make onward, rather than simply finished in them. Bottled at 48% ABV without an age statement, it shows fruity berry sweetness and spice on the nose, a complex, rich and tender palate, and a finish combining sweetness, acidity and spice drawn from the French oak. Chief blender Shinji Fukuyo describes it as marrying the softness of Bordeaux red wine with oak-derived spice. A wine-cask-driven single malt for adventurous collectors.
