This limited Yamazaki 2020 Edition release was matured in large North American white oak puncheon casks, roughly 480 litres in size. Their lower wood-to-spirit contact slows maturation, letting the spirit`s original character come through while still developing balance and depth. Expect green apple, vanilla and acacia honey on the nose, a soft, mild palate of gentle butterscotch, and a finish of light bitterness with a hint of oak-derived sweetness. Bottled at 48% ABV, it is a more delicate expression than Yamazaki`s sherry or mizunara-driven bottlings, aimed at series collectors.
