Chris Brown avoids jail after admitting tequila bottle attack in Mayfair club
Updated: 9 hours ago
Chris Brown has been given a suspended prison sentence for an attack with a tequila bottle at a Mayfair members' club in 2023.
At Southwark Crown Court on 26 October, the 37-year-old singer received an eight-month prison term, suspended for a year, having admitted affray.
The court heard that Brown struck the music producer Abraham Diaw several times with a heavy tequila bottle, twice on the head, at Tape, a private club in Mayfair, in February 2023. The judge said striking someone's head with a glass bottle was plainly dangerous.
Brown's vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, who was seen grabbing Mr Diaw during the incident, received a four-month term, also suspended for a year. Each man must pay £1,500 towards costs.
