Gang jailed over £1m ram raid robberies in London’s Mayfair and Chelsea

A gang that used stolen cars to smash into designer boutiques on Bond Street and in Sloane Square, causing around £1 million in losses and damage, has been jailed.

Over three months the group carried out five raids on luxury fashion stores, including YSL, Bottega Veneta, END and Loro Piana. Using stolen cars and mopeds, they rammed shopfronts and took whatever they could carry before escaping.

In one raid in December 2025 they made off with more than 105 items worth close to £385,000, among them handbags, boots and a £30,000 coat. Detectives later traced some of the goods to a shop in Cornwall, where messages showed the coat had been sold on for £1,800.

The Met's Flying Squad followed the gang across London using CCTV and number-plate recognition cameras, and DNA recovered at the scenes linked the men to the raids. Everyone involved was identified within six weeks of the final break-in.

At Inner London Crown Court, Ryan Brough and Max Tyson, both from Islington, pleaded guilty to two charges of conspiracy to burgle and received prison terms of six years and five months apiece. Harry Johnson was given 22 months for handling stolen goods, and two other men received suspended sentences.

The Met described the outcome as a “significant milestone”, adding that neighbourhood crime across London dropped by 15.6 per cent over the past financial year.
