Three jailed over luxury watch robbery at knifepoint in London's Mayfair

Three men who robbed a man of a £140,000 Richard Mille watch at knifepoint in Berkeley Square have been sent to prison for 14 years and nine months between them.
The robbery happened shortly before midnight on 28 January this year in Berkeley Square, one of Mayfair's most exclusive addresses. The victim was threatened with a knife before his watch, valued at around £140,000, was taken.
Metropolitan Police officers pieced the case together from CCTV, which showed the men arriving by car and later leaving the area by train for Slough, where all three lived. The car led detectives to Younes Djoudi, 34, who was caught the following day after a short chase on foot. Data from his phone identified his two accomplices a week later.
All three pleaded guilty to robbery and were sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on 16 October. Djoudi received five years and nine months; Ali Eldahouzze, 22, and Abdel El Habchi, 30, were jailed alongside him.
The case is part of a wider Met effort against watch and phone robberies in central London, a trend some politicians have described as an epidemic. The force says robbery across the capital has fallen by 12.8 per cent.
