Part of Glenfarclas`s Family Collector series, in which the Grant family select individual casks for release, this whisky was distilled in 1966 and matured for 47 years in a Fino sherry cask, a drier and lighter style of sherry wood than the Oloroso butts Glenfarclas typically favours. Expect a whisky that is elegant rather than heavily rich. nutty, oxidative notes, orchard fruit, heather honey and gentle spice, with real length from the extended maturation. An exceptionally rare, single-cask Speyside malt aimed squarely at serious collectors.
