This 1966 vintage 18 Year Old carries the deep, old-fashioned sherry character for which Macallan was known before the distillery`s major 1970s expansion. Dried fruit, orange peel and leather lead the nose, with antique oak and a touch of smoke behind. Dense and chewy on the palate, it shows raisin, dark toffee and warm spice, closing long and slightly resinous. A weighty, serious dram for tracing Macallan`s development through the mid-1960s.
