This is an older bottling of Macallan 18 Year Old, distilled in 1979 during an era when the distillery was refining its now-famous approach to sherry-seasoned oak. Matured for at least eighteen years in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, it shows a full-bodied, richly sherried character. dried fruit, ginger and toffee on the nose, raisin, sultana and caramel on the palate, and a warm, spicy finish of orange and oak.
