Macallan Rare Cask Batch 1 (2018 Release) is a limited-edition single malt whisky produced at the Macallan Distillery on Speyside. This 2018 release comes from Macallan`s rebranded Rare Cask series, which for the first time in this offering features useful production information such as the whisky`s batch number, year of release and cask types used in the maturation process. Macallan states that less than 1% of the casks laid down at the distillery are deemed eligible for use in the Rare Cask series, with each batch limited to a vatting of 50 barrels. Batch No 1 was matured in American and European Sherry-seasoned oak casks for an undisclosed number of years, and was bottled in 2018 at 43%.
