Platt Vineyard 2023 from Rivers-Marie is a cool-climate Chardonnay from the extreme Sonoma Coast. This vineyard is defined by its proximity to the Pacific, lending a searing acidity and a distinct saline quality to this wine as a result of coastal fogs and maritime breezes. This 2023 is taught and nervous, with notes of wet stone and lemon peel. Thomas Rivers Brown has handled the fruit with minimal intervention, allowing the natural high-toned aromatics of the Platt site to dominate.
