Armagnac de Montal is a vintage-dated Bas-Armagnac, distilled in 1960 and matured for many years in oak before bottling, in the traditional single-vintage style favoured in the region. Long ageing typically brings out notes of prune, dried fig, walnut and gentle spice, with a mellow, rounded warmth rather than a fiery edge. As a rare, decades-old vintage spirit, it is best enjoyed neat, in small measures, after a meal. A genuinely scarce bottle that will appeal most to collectors and Armagnac connoisseurs.
