This release from Australian distillery Starward is a rich, full-bodied single malt whisky, one of the highest proof bottlings they have ever done. Fortis is aged in American Oak barrels to give the whisky a richer taste, with a toasty and vanilla character. These barrels are sourced from Barossa Valley wineries, where they once held powerful red wines such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
