This is a tremendous Pauillac from 5ème Cru Classé Château Batailley perfectly in its prime drinking window. There is admirable youthful vim in its deep core of black fruit but pleasing mature complexity from subtle notes of cedar, incense and earth. Still with assertive tannins and ample power, decanting is well advised.
