Biston-Brillette is a well-regarded Cru Bourgeois from Moulis-en-Médoc, a 50.50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend from gravelly soils close to the Gironde. The 2022 is deeply coloured, with morello cherry, blackcurrant and blueberry fruit lifted by white pepper, liquorice and a touch of vanilla oak. The palate is ripe and structured, with firm but polished tannins from a warm, concentrated growing season. Good value drinking from 2026, with the depth to reward cellaring for a further decade. Pairs well with roast lamb or mature cheese.
