The 2001 vintage had a longer than usual growing season, with flowering taking place during the normal time frame, but with late, uneven ripening. The harvest required great patience, but all efforts paid off. The wine has a complex nose of black fruits, pine, tobacco, graphite and spices. Refined tannins and pronounced acidity give way to a fruity finish. The wine is in its prime drinking window now.
