El Rapolao Raúl Pérez 2020 is an expression of the esteemed El Rapolao vineyard, recognised for its unique terroir in Bierzo. This wine combines local grape varieties Mencía and Bastardo. The wine undergoes whole-bunch fermentation and is macerated on skins for 30-45 days, followed by a 12-month maturation in neutral French 500L casks. Raúl Pérez holds the largest plots in this location, which has become increasingly difficult to acquire. The wine showcases layered fruit characteristics and an inherent elegance.
