Château Figeac 2015 is a St-Emilion blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc. This vintage represents the first year the estate implemented a new protocol to reduce oxygen contact during the first year of élevage, which took place in 100% new French oak for 18 months. The high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the estate’s gravel outcrops, provides a structural framework and a profile of graphite and blackcurrant that distinguishes it from the Merlot-dominant wines typical of the Right Bank.
