With a history dating back to the 16th century, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a Fifth Growth estate located in Pauillac. Now under the ownership of François-Xavier Borie, consistency and quality have increased notably over the last decade and the château now enjoys a well-deserved reputation. This release is the 2009 vintage of its Grand Vin, a blend composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The 2009 vintage in Bordeaux is widely regarded as one of the best in recent history. The weather conditions were ideal for grape growing, with a long, hot summer and a mild autumn.
