Château Lagrange is a Third Growth estate located within the Saint-Julien appellation. Lagrange was acquired by the Japanese drinks giant Suntory in 1983 and is currently managed by Matthieu Bordes. This is the 2009 vintage of its flagship wine, a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot, aged for 18-21 months in oak barrels [60% new]. Expect plenty of blackberries, blackcurrants and liquorice, with hints of cedar and truffles.
