Château Latour is classified First Growth and is one of the oldest wine producing properties in the appellation of Pauillac, with a history dating back to the 14th Century. The 1996 is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. This should now be approaching its peak drinking phase but will likely continue to develop for several decades yet.
