Mouton Rothschild 1968 is a fully mature, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. The prestigious Château Mouton Rothschild estate is home to the world-renowned First Growth of the same name. Established in 1853 by Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild, the château pioneered the concept of estate bottling in the 1920s. The 2005 Château Mouton-Rothschild is an extremely flamboyant and complex wine of immense power, remarkable richness and captivating texture. Renowned for being incredibly long-lived, this is just beginning to enter its adolescence and can be expected to reach its zenith in around 10-15 years, with perhaps more than 30 years of upwards trajectory. It is a typical blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc.
